Frédéric BALLEREAU, nominated new director of Eurailtest on the first of March, Frédéric’s ambition is to accelerate the international development of Eurailtest and its partner laboratories.
A profile tailored to the rail industry
An engineer by training, Frédéric BALLEREAU has spent most of his career with the SNCF in the field of railway expertise.
With his solid experience, his expertise in railway signalling and his international background will be particularly valuable for EURAILTEST’s future projects.
“With 22 years’ experience as a railway signalling expert, I have designed and deployed systems on a wide range of rolling stock throughout Europe on behalf of multiple customers.
“I had the pleasure of managing the ERTMS France Laboratory for 8 years and developing a wide range of services that actively support the European ambition of deploying ERTMS signalling systems, aimed at all players in the industry, infrastructure managers and operators.
“During my career, I managed the implementation of the economic interest grouping TRY&CERT with two European assessment leaders CERTIFER and BELGORAIL, and I was one of the architects of the foundation of the European association ERTMS Accredited Lab (EAL), which today brings together all the players in the profession and represents one of the 13 representative bodies of the European Railway Agency.
“Today, I am taking over the management of GIE Eurailtest as the company celebrates its 25th anniversary. It is both an honour for me to continue the history of this European leader in testing and a challenge to give it greater scope on the international stage.”
